Mother Kevin championed girl-child education in Uganda by founding Sancta Maria Primary Teachers' College in 1926, the country’s first English-speaking PTC for women. She trained the Little Sisters of St. Francis as educators, leading to the establishment of schools like St. Therese Namagunga(1936), St. Agnes Nagalama (1938) and others.

Mother Kevin Kearney arrived in Uganda over a century ago(1903), led by a mission to uplift souls in need. She founded the Little Sisters of St. Francis, a congregation devoted to education, compassion, and service, with a heartfelt commitment to nurturing girls with holistic education.

The educational tradition of the Little Sisters of St. Francis is a rich tapestry of Faith, discipline, and holistic development. It focuses on nurturing the whole person—spirit, mind, and body—nurturing young girls, to thrive academically and socially while staying true to holistic values imparted.

Namagunga Mother Campus (St. Therese Namagunga Primary Boarding School), established in 1936, has long been a beacon of Catholic education, emphasizing discipline and moral integrity. To meet the growing demand for accessible education for girls, Namagunga Primary School-Kitende was started.

Under the leadership of Rev. Sr. Assumpta Babirye, a seasoned girl child educator with 25 years of experience as Head Teacher at St. Therese Namagunga Primary Boarding School, Namagunga Primary School - Kitende opened its doors in 2023 to continue the educational legacy of the Little Sisters of St. Francis.

On April 7th 2024, Namagunga Primary School - Kitende officially opened its doors, marking the beginning of a new chapter in quality education rooted in Catholic values. This milestone brought together students, parents, and educators, united by a shared commitment to nurturing future leaders.
